Lockside Wharf Development Update – March 2022
We are pleased to provide the next build update for Lockside Wharf, a new development between Jewellery Quarter and Brindleyplace located along Birmingham’s iconic waterways.
Consisting of the refurbishment of an existing factory building and a new-build extension to create 61 contemporary apartments, we’re excited to be bringing this new development to market alongside the developers, Consortia Developments.
The Lockside Wharf site works are making excellent progress with key early milestones having already been met.
Pile foundations are fully completed, with the ground beams and hot rolled steel to the existing building near completion. Works for the internal drainage also commenced in February 2022.
The groundworks continue to be the primary focus on site, ensuring we achieve the key date for new steelwork up to the podium slab whilst remaining on the current programme. The strategy for the podium and ground floor is for each to be built and poured progressively.

The crane base has been poured and, subject to weather conditions, the crane will be erected in the first week of March.
For the existing structure, the partitioning is due to be 25% completed by the end of March and the hollow core floor works are commencing in the first week of March.
Completion of Lockside Wharf is anticipated for Q2 2023. These dates are provided as guidance only and are subject to change in line with the build programme. We will keep you informed of any changes in our regular build updates throughout the construction period.
