Lockside Wharf Build Update – January 2023

We are pleased to provide the latest build update for Lockside Wharf, a new development between Jewellery Quarter and Brindleyplace located along Birmingham’s iconic waterways.

Consisting of the refurbishment of an existing factory building and a new-build extension to create 61 contemporary apartments, we’re excited to be bringing this new development to market alongside the developers, Consortia Developments.

The steel frame is now complete and the floor slabs are being installed. The hollow core installation commenced last month along with the Ground Floor car park slab which has now been poured in the wedge with the blockwork commencing.

Screeding is ongoing and is now complete up to the 4th floor. Partitions are being progressed in the wedge and buffer units. Fire protection to the existing timber floors has been fully completed along with rising elements, existing building tanking, scaffold and steel penetrations.

The existing building cladding, windows and drainage are 98% complete, with works also well underway for the new building section of Lockside Wharf.

The new building external wall insulation and firestopping has commenced along with the external wall masonry.

We are also pleased to announce that the Lockside Wharf development has won 3 awards at the prestigious International Property Awards. The development won ‘Best Architecture Multiple Residence United Kingdom’, ‘Best Architecture Multiple Residence West Midlands’ and ‘Best Residential Development 20+ Units West Midlands’ in addition to also being nominated for ‘Best Architecture Multiple Residence Europe’. Completion of Lockside Wharf is anticipated for Q3 2023. These dates are provided as guidance only and are subject to change in line with the build programme. We will keep you informed on any changes in our regular build updates throughout the construction period.
