Lockside Wharf Development Update – January 2022
We are pleased to provide our first build update for Lockside Wharf, a new development between Jewellery Quarter and Brindleyplace located along Birmingham’s iconic waterways.
Consisting of the refurbishment of an existing factory building and a new-build extension to create 61 contemporary apartments, we’re excited to be bringing this new development to market alongside the developers, Consortia Developments.
Site works commenced in Q4 2021 with 90% of the site set up and the full existing roof has been demolished.
Pile foundations and existing steel penetrations are on track to be completed by the end of January 2022.
82% of the scaffolding across the existing structure has been assembled. The remaining scaffolding will be installed to the top section of building once the cladding works commence.
Fire protection to the existing timber floors is also 75% complete and external groundworks started this month. The scrape off and rebar for groundworks are ready to start being laid from week commencing 24th January 2022.
The existing building steel is fully designed and ready to be fabricated with partitioning works recently started within the existing structure.
Completion of Lockside Wharf is anticipated for Q2 2023. These dates are provided as guidance only and are subject to change in line with the build programme. We will keep you informed on any changes in our regular build updates throughout the construction period.
