A Home for A Home – St Mungo’s Partnership
At Joseph Mews, our business is built around property. We help people invest in UK homes, from finding the right opportunity through to managing the property after completion. But property is about more than an asset. It is about having somewhere safe and secure to live, and the stability that comes with it.
That is why, on World Homeless Day, we are proud to announce our new partnership with St Mungo’s, one of the UK’s leading homelessness charities.
For more than 55 years, St Mungo’s has been supporting people experiencing homelessness across England. Last year alone, they supported more than 26,000 people through 138 services.
Their work goes well beyond providing somewhere to stay. St Mungo’s helps people move from the streets into safe accommodation, while providing support with health and wellbeing, housing, benefits, skills and employment. The aim is to help people build the stability and independence they need to move forward, with a safe roof as the starting point.
That is what made St Mungo’s the right partner for us.
Introducing A Home for a Home
At Joseph Mews, we help people invest in property with the aim of creating long-term financial security. As the business has grown, we wanted that growth to give something back too, so we have launched A Home for a Home.
From today, every qualifying investment made through Joseph Mews will help support St Mungo’s work with people experiencing homelessness. For every qualifying property investment made through Joseph Mews, we will donate proceeds to St Mungo’s. This contribution comes from us, at no additional cost to our investors. This funding will go towards the practical support that helps people move away from the streets and towards a safe, sustainable home.
There is nothing additional our investors need to do. Their investment stays focused on their own property goals, and every completed purchase adds to our contribution.
Johnny Conran, Partner and Head of Middle East and North Africa, commented:
“Working in property, you spend every day helping people find a place to live, somewhere they can settle, put down roots and build a life. It’s easy to take that for granted. Not everyone has that same opportunity, and I think those of us in this industry have a responsibility to do something about it, wherever we can. Supporting St Mungo’s felt like an obvious way to give something back.”
Why we’re doing this
We know that one investment cannot solve homelessness. But thousands of individual decisions can add up to something meaningful when they are connected to the right cause, and A Home for a Home is our way of making that part of how we do business. The more people we help invest in UK property, the more we can contribute to St Mungo’s and the work they do across the country.
The impact of that work extends well beyond accommodation. A safe place to stay can give someone the stability to access healthcare, rebuild relationships, develop skills, find employment and start planning for the future.
A property may be an investment to one person, but a safe and secure home can be the foundation for everything that comes next for someone else.
